Elbow Lake Lodge
What was so great about the Great Depression? Elbow Lake Lodge
, for one thing. It started out as Kennedy's Rustic Resort, and was created by a herculean act of will and ingenuity on the part of Walt Kennedy. The first cabin he built for $10 (no, that's not a typo), making virtually everything himself.
Now Elbow Lake Lodge is owned by Dan and Laurie Aschbach and a few of their friends. Situtated on a Canadian shield lake with great fishing, it offers three-quarters of a mile of lakeshore, eight charming cabins, and a beautiful lodge.
