Riverside Resort
The Kurtz family put Riverside Resort
on the map as one of Minnesota’s earliest vacation destinations back in 1927. By 1940, Art Kurtz advertised eight housekeeping cottages. Some loyal guests have been coming up to Riverside for over 50 years. Tom and Dorothy Adams made the trip up from Chicago on dirt roads in a Studebaker, and their grandkids are still making that trip.
These days Riverside offers nineteen cabins, a seasonal trailer court, and a primitive campsite area. With their old-time hospitality and the great fishing that Cedar Island Lake offers, Riverside recalls a kindler, gentler era of Minnesota vacationing.
